you better make academics your number 1 man or your gona be workin for me cuz let me tell you, im not gona cut you any slack

good morning dcho, lol

wassup loser, have a gud nights sleep?

Hey, you two. How is Welcome Week going? All set to start classes?

and watch that partying... My son said that in the first two days of Welcome Week, they had already taken two kids from McNutt by ambulance to the hospital for alcohol poisoning. not good...

welcome week was fun, ive met people around campus and people in the dorms but i wish i hadnt met a2wolves cuz hes a loser HAHAHAHAHA dont worry our dorm is filled with people who are either gamers, antisocial or focused on academics so we probaly wont have parties goin on but id like to go to 1 party at least cuz its college. yea, ive heard there were parties goin on, it sucks cuz my room is right by the outside door and my window is close to the street where everybody comes out and when i sleep, i can hear everything. just last night, some guy was banging on my window saying LET ME IN MAN LET ME IN! and i just ignored him and fell asleep cuz i figure hes drunk or just trying to annoy me.

Dcho, Glad you are meeting lots of people. That's too bad about your room location--doesn't sound that great. Probably a good idea to ignore people who pound on your window, I agree. Yeah, the noise can take some adjusting to. And don't worry, I'm sure you'll make it to at least one party. I'm glad to hear partying is not your top priority, though.

Hope classes go well this week!

Susan, my son told me that last week, he was aware of six kids hauled off because of alcohol poisoning - all of them girls. He also told me the frat parties he'd gone to were lame, so he left, because he doesn't really want to join a frat, he just went to meet people, but there were so many crammed into such a small space, and it was so loud, it wasn't going to happen anyway. He's not too happy right now that Wright is so quiet, but I think he'll come to appreciate having a place to go and sleep and study when he leaves the loud neighborhood.

Dcho, you speak wise words. You sound like a mature young man who will do well there. You didn't miss anything with the parties!

I think the worst thing about Wright right now is the fact that they don't have A/C. Not the party. BTW-I remember reading an article in the IDS today saying there were 14 people taken to the hospital. Saying this was an abnormally large number for welcome week.

Oh, I didn't even think about the a/c, because my son's roomie brought a window unit and their room is nice and comfy.

Fourteen kids? That's insane. There's more at risk beyond alcohol poisoning. What are they thinking?

Oh, and I don't know what you mean by, 'the worst thing at Wright is no A/C, not the party'. There was no party at Wright. It's pretty quiet, according to my son.

14 people taken to the hospital in one week? That IS terrible! I haven't talked to my son for a couple of days, but I'm sure there were more from McNutt then. And AimHigh, I think the problem is that they weren't thinking. At least not in any rational way... And some of them will not learn from experience either. I do not envy my son, having to deal with this as an RA.

Yeah, when I hear about parties, it's all in Forest and McNutt. Briscoe has a party reputation, but I haven't heard of near the amount there as in the other two.
