I can only get 50% correct on the passage based reading part of the SAT

<p>I took three passage based reading quizzes on the SAT Online Course today. I only got about half the answers correct. Below are the quiz results: </p>

<p>Quiz #1: 14/28 - 50%
Quiz #2: 13/28 - 46%
Quiz #3: 15/28 - 54%</p>

<p>What can I do to improve? I'm planning to take the January SAT which comes in two weeks. I need to improve my score to a 600 minimum on the critical reading section. I can usually get most of the sentence based completion correct but passage-based reading really is the part that I'm struggling on the most. I read the explanations and everything but they don't really seem to help that much. How do I improve, and improve quickly?</p>

<p>Honestly the best thing is to understand that the answers are in the text itself. Do not extrapolate. Do not think outside the box. Do not think inside the protagonist’s/speaker’s head. A word or phrase is physically in the passage that will support the right answer.</p>
