I can sign up for classes, but I can't see where to figure out which one is being taught by which teacher....and second, I can't find MAC2512 and it won't let me sign up for PHY2060. What should I do?

I can't read the dates and times, there's like Rs in it and periods? What does that mean lol?

Many holds are still on you account if you haven't been to preview. Periods are what time the classes are (first period is 7:25am) and R= thursday. To figure out what teacher is teaching, you have to go to: http://www.registrar.ufl.edu/soc/ and click on course listing. MAC2512 is probably full for post preview people, which is what you are seeing (they reserve classes for each preview session). You dont have the prereqs yet to sign up for the class (you have to wait till preview to sign up for that).

ASMAJ, I would be kind of careful about mentioning that they reserve classes. I don't know if it was because of my specific department or because I am a transfer student, but when I attended preview my advisor flat out told me that they don't hold spots open. Again, that might be because I'm a transfer and because of my major.

It could be because you are transfer. They tend not to treat transfer too good when it comes to classes. For example transfer preview is the last of the summer and by that time freshmen and continuing students have picked their classes, there are not that many choices left for transfers.

I did the first transfer session they offered in May, and my department head told me the classes were mostly full :-/. I just feel bad for the transfer students who go in there thinking that they'll have spots open for them and they're the last ones to do preview :(

Calculus, please don't try to register yourself for classes before you attend Preview. Yes, there are seats in critical classes being held for each Preview session, but if you try to register yourself before, you completely mess up the coding that gives you access to those classes at Preview. Basically, you won't be able to get anything, and it's extremely difficult to fix what you've done when you get to Preview.

Thats doesn't sound right to me either. I haven't heard of that before.

It's really complicated and tough to explain...but it's true. The system that reserves seats for Preview has to know that you are a freshman so it can release those seats to you and not to the general population. I've had to deal with the students who've registered themselves early before, and it truly messes up everything!

I called the Helpdesk and the registrar. Helpdesk said it would be fine, but didn't sound too sure, so I called the registrar. The registrar said they missed some stuff on my record and that they could fix it at preview and that it wouldn't be a big deal.

Does this mean that if you have been to preview you can change around your schedule or do you have to wait for the drop/add period? For example if son wants to change the time of a class does he have to wait or can he go on ISIS himself and try to find an open class? Thanks.

Thanks guys, we did try to change today and it says you can't make changes to summer till June 30 and Fall August 1. Maybe we are not going to the right place, he says he tried. If anyone knows how to do the changes please let us know. Thanks again.

You will be able to change your classes starting on Aug. 1st if you start in the fall. You can also change your classes when you get home on the second day of preview. I think they open the system up for you to register at preveiw on that day and it stays open for the remainder of the day.
