I took the October ACT and completed the English and math sections; however, I was feeling really out of it and so I decided to cancel my scores during the test (I told the proctor the situation and she said that she’d take care of it). Scores come out in a few days and I haven’t received any notifications of my score being cancelled via email or through the ACT website. Am I supposed to be notified that my scores will be cancelled or what? I don’t want to have a score report with like (36,36,0,0). Also, will colleges know that I cancelled my ACT score? I plan to submit my previous ACT score to colleges.
Colleges won’t be notified about a canceled score. Not sure about the rest. I think you need to call ACT to confirm.
For future reference, you could’ve finished the test, got some practice on all sections, got your scores, have an idea of what your potential is, then just deleted the scores.
^agreed with the above…I hope you have not used the free score report, right? (in case they didn’t cancel as you are concerned.
When in doubt, call ACT, I found out they are very helpful and can access my kid’s account.
Has anyone ever cancelled their ACT score right after or during the test? If so, please respond.
You should be cancelled and receive no scores, first because you asked for it at the test and second because ACT usually cancels if you fail to do a section of the test other than optional essay. In any event, you may want to contact ACT to confirm.
Thank you! Your comment is very reassuring. I will update you on whether or not I get my scores, which is set to come out Monday night.
My scores were cancelled! Thanks for the replies.
