The UC transfer apps asks how many units I plan to complete before transferring to a UC. I've switched my major multiple times so I've collected quite a bit of units. Although I'm applying as a Junior transfer, it looks like having 90+ units lists me as a Senior transfer. What should I do? Put down that I'm a Junior transfer anyway or is UCSC out of the picture?

EDIT: I submitted a TAG for SC and my counselor said it was good. I didn't think I'd experience any problems.

If all of your units come from a community college, you have no unit cap and you will be considered a junior level transfer. You didn’t specify your situation if you were a transfer that enrolled only at a CC, enrolled at a four-year university, or enrolled at both. If you’re either of the latter two then there is cause for concern. But if you’ve only taken CC courses and accumulated 90+ then your anxiety is over nothing because they’re all lower division and don’t count toward any unit cap. I transfered with 100+ CC units and got accepted to 7 different UCs, including UCSC.

If you’ve been to a four year university I suggest you call admissions and ask what their policy is. There’s a bit of great area regarding the unit cap for transfers that have attended four year universities and there has even been reports that it’s something they plan to do away with all together. You should call UCSC and whatever other UCs you plan to apply to clarify exactly what their policy is because it’s something that varies from UC to UC.
