I have a friend who has like a 1400/2400 and a 85 average getting into baruch college for accounting, bs.

uh honors? if not well that's not too bs

I can't believe it's not butter!

Is this a joke? Cuny Baruch is mad easy to get into and a 1400 sat is well, well, well above their 75th percentile.

miktau, he clearly states that this person got 1400 out of 2400, which is, according to the College Board, below the 50% mark.

your right, my bad completely misread the post i thought he had a 1400/1600. Even still a 1400/2400 is not that far below average and well any of the cunys (with the exception of macauly honors college) are pretty easy to get into and I belive thats not far from their range.

cheers,
Mike

My friend got into Cal with a 3.85 GPA and 1,800 SAT I.

She knows people who've gotten into UCLA with 3.5 GPAs and 1,500 SATs

According to Naviance...
someone from my school got into Columbia with 2.99 weighted and 1280/1600.
That was probably a few years ago though.

There was a guy last year with a 2.98 GPA who got Harvard
About 2-3 years ago, there was a guy who transferred into Stanford from a CC. His HS gpa was 1.8. Yep, he got 1 of the 20 spots with a 1.8 HS gpa

A friend of mine got into NYU. Not like she's dumb or anything, just didn't think she was NYU smart.

I know someone who got into MIT with a 1240/1600 on the SAT, not an URM, International too. He had no serious awards also.

I would love to believe you all, but I need to see to believe.

"About 2-3 years ago, there was a guy who transferred into Stanford from a CC. His HS gpa was 1.8. Yep, he got 1 of the 20 spots with a 1.8 HS gpa."

He had a nearly perfect score on the SAT. He was in the Marines for six years and had a 4.0 at his CCs honors program.

Be careful not to be too selective with facts.
