I. Can't. Choose.

I just got my financial aid from Boston College.
They gave me about $25,000 a year in scholarships... and I mean... that's half of the cost...

And Delaware gave me about $15,000 and U of Maryland gave me $6000...

And Syracuse gave me a ridiculous $32,000...

AND THE WORST PART IS.
the only thing that matters to my father is the money.

I don't know what I want... for some reason, even though syracuse is the best deal, the town isn't the safest. and boston college, man, i mean, that's in boston.

could someone give me some insight? please.

im going to london for spring break in two days... and i gotta make a decision... soon.

It would be helpful to know what you want to major in, but as of now, I would definitely urge you to go with Boston College.

Boston College is a great school and Boston is an amazing city and good college town.

im considering a major in art history/ film studies/ drama/ french.

does that change your statement? =</p>

Is the 25k you got from BC need-based?

actually, i think all of BC's aid is need-based, at least from my phone calls to them and emails and such.

the 25k will not have to be repaid, thankfully. it's a need-based scholarship

Nope, doesn't change my statement. =)

i dont know much of your perspective majors but it seems boston college is your best choice by far.

Syracuse lists their comprehensive fee as about 42,500, so they are about 8K per year cheaper than BC. They also gave you 7K more per year. So BC would be 15K per year more expensive, or 60K over the four years. If you would be willing to shoulder some of the costs by taking out loans and working more in the summers (and maybe during the year), maybe you can talk your father into BC. You could borrow about 28K over the four years. You may also be able to graduate a semester early if you plan well, and cut off a big chunk of cost.
