I sent in my deposit for indiana university and a week later i found out i was accepted to bu.
i know that bu is a much better school, which is why it is so hard for me to even think about turning it down. because i've decided to go to indiana it's in my head that that is where i truly want to go. however, one of the things i loved most about IU was the campus. it was absolutely gorgeous and it seemed that the students loved the place. bu on the otherhand doesn't really have a campus and although i have yet to visit, i can't imagine myself going to a school like that.
boston in my opinion is one of the best cities in the states and has so much to offer. it's way better than small bloomington. also, BU offers a much better communications program, which is what i am interested in and hope to major in.
any help would be really appreciated...i am more confused than ever!

It sounds like BU is what you're looking for: the program you're looking for, in a city you would very much enjoy living in.

BU isn't much, much better. It may be better depending on the major, but certainly not much better. Boston is a cool city, but if you want a campus and school spirit, IU may fit you better. And you will not run out of things to do in Bloomington(not that Boston wouldn't have even more).

Regarding the prestige, Kelley at IU is one of the better business programs out there, and blows away BU's. Don't underestimate IU.

But go where your heart tells you to go, not your brain.

I applied to both actually and will be attending BU this Sept.
BU is overall a much better school. There's no denying that. I love Indiana, but I wouldnt give it THAT much credit....yet

Com@ BU is much better than at IU
Kelley is better than BU's SMG, but SMG is still a very good and well respected bschool. Kelley doesnt give you many more options if any after undergrad.

BU=better place to go for college in terms of college town

IU=more of a campus and more big time sports as well as more school spirit

BU=big time hockey, a ton of school spirit at hockey games but still school pride overall

Price is probably a big issue as well. BU is ~$48K a year.

Cant go wrong with either. I love Indiana, but BU was a better fit for me.
