I can't finish on time...help?

I signed up to take Math Level 2 next Saturday, and while I seem to know most of the material, I just can't finish it on time. I've taken a practice test from the Kaplan book, and I didn't even finish the last 8 or so questions because I ran outta time. What should I do to get up to speed? Like I said, the material isn't really what's getting me. I can figure out how to do the questions...but by the time I actually do them, it's taking too long. How do you finish all 50 questions, correctly, in an hour?? I don't know, but I really need some of you amazing scorers to help me out or give some sort of advice.

Um learn how to do them better? Learn the formulas to save time. If you have to spend time deriving formulas, then you won't be able to finish. You have more than 1 min per question. I don't understand how you cannot finish in time. Especially since for the first 20 or so, you only need like 20 seconds for them.

How bad does it look if you take Level 1?

I just don't want to take Level 2 and regret it because I got a low score...

what do you mean, "low score"?

i'd rather get 700-720 in Math 2 than 780-800 in Math 1. selective colleges almost always want to see Math 2.

Dude, I've noticed that you definitely have an elitist tone. Not everyone can finish all of the questions in time, and not everyone can get an 800. Just be happy that you can and try to be more productive in helping others reach their potential if you're going to post in their threads.

@ the OP - take lots of tests; practice your number sense to try to estimate values quickly rather than having to plug into your calculator, and try to commit more formulas/techniques to memory (the test is repetitive).

I also reccomend that during the test, if you can't answer a question immediately (or see your way to a solution), then just skip it and come back. I find this usually saves time.
