i can't wait to go to Syracuse

egh it was alrite. they gave a lot of info and we even got to hear a prof. talk about machines and thinking. it was really interesting. they were talking about how they combine all schools and how well rounded they are. My mom saw the Summerstart program at the reception and decided to send me. its cool tho cuz u get to take courses ur interested in. im just trying to get out of taking an english class there, ugh. wat are ur intended major(s)/minors?

computer science. graphic design

minor japanese and spanish.

AHA!!! YAY FOR JAPANESE AND SPANISH!!!! (and graphic design is nice too ;D) Okay, so I have a question for all you fanatics. What makes you love SU so much? When I went, I found the place simply depressing. But it was spring (still very dead), and the sunday before easter (so I was actually shocked when I saw a real person.) Anyone care to lighten the picture some? :x I'd rather feel excited than resigned to go to college.

well carmelo anthony orginslly got me interested in cuse but then i found out that it fit me perfectly. i wanted a big school but not too big (i also got into uga which has 30,000+ students). its a private top tier school no matter what anyone says. its in new york meaning ill be meeting people with those accents i love and its far away from ga but not across the country like cali. ill be very different than alot of the people there and i wont know anyone. which is what i was looking for. and it has alot of school spirit and good sports. i wanted that in a school to. there's alot of things i can be involved in.

accents? ..... ha

I have no idea what a NY accent is like. I even went there (SU) and couldn't hear anything diff from cali.

that's the thing, there are no accents (unless you mean the way some of the girls talk)

someone from there told me theres alot of ny accents. so sorry paper signals i dont believe u. specially since youre from ny yourself and prolly cant hear it.

ok melo ... lol

i swear u prolly cant hear it! i cant hear southern accents. hey which one of yall went to hs in great neck. your school is one of the best in the country.

I'm w/ melo on this one. I'm from Buffalo originally, and while it isn't the Fran Drescher style whine you're expecting, there's definitely an accent. They add a's to their e's and e's to their a's. All the vowels blend together. It's cute, really.

lol @ fran drescher whine. omg thats totally what i was expecting.

Threekid'skid, can you give an example? (Since, again, i have no clue what the NY acent is like.)

lol i can give you an example...it goes like this: when new yorkers tawk they awlways add an auw to every a, :D. i mean obviously theres an accent to everything but thats probably the most prominent. idk can anyone think of anything else?

Ya that's the city accent. Upstate it sounds closer to... man did u ever watch that show "Bobby's World" as a kid? They're all from Minnesota, but the sound is similar. Like it's not "Don't" it's "Duon't" not "Mom" it's...er... "Maam" uh "Maaem"? gee, sounds are hard to type.

lol this is so funny.. "NY accent"
I guess we NY-ers do have an accent but i think it also depends on what part of NY you live in and what race you are

Oh and let me add... I can't wait to go to Syracuse!! In fact I just CAN NOT WAIT TO START COLLEGE LIFE. All I talk about is college and think about is college and my friends think I'm a little over-obsessed with the whole college thing.. but HEY WHO ISN'T?!

=]

hahaha yeah i know me too! new yorkers definitely have an accent but your right it really does depend on the area your from. theres obviously distinct accents for every part of nyc and then the one i described is basically for westchester county which is right above the city, and then theres the rest of ny state which im more like threeskidskid. clarified? lol, youll definitely here it when we got to school. when it that again bc i would really like it to be tomorrow...

haha wild guess: This is the first thing you all do when you get home from school, isn't it? Eh, I'm guilty too. I've been waiting for this page to update all day (at home sick today, and bored too). It's a good way to put off studying for APs, at any rate.

Hey does anyone know what the required courses are?

lol. yea soon as i get home i check my xanga and pull up cc. i cant wait for cuse either hailey!!!!!!!!!! i guess i have an accent too. but just like yall said it kinda depends on what part of ga youre from and what race. white people in ga have a drawl. while i have like a drawly twang lol. like i can retype what i just said only with my accent.

yea as sooun ayas ah geht houme i cheyek my xayanga ayand pull up su-e su-e. lol.

but i talk fast so i dont sound like that much of a hillbilly.

Maybe it's because I'm from here but I don't think we have accents, nor have I heard anyone refer to our accents until now. But I very well could be wrong. I actually would'nt mind having one lol
