that’s a great post! very entertaining.

not much social life?..maybe you chose a boring college

OP i felt the same way when I applied, like legit the EXACT same way. Plus it wasn’t just the desire for prestige but the fact that all that work in high school would be thrown away if it wasn’t used towards getting into a top institution.

What I did, shotgun affect. Applied to 14 schools, 11 of which were reaches (Duke, Ivies minus Princeton, Stanford, Chicago, Georgetown) and got lucky getting a choice of a few (Duke in, Chicago in, Georgetown in, Cornell wl but with almost guaranteed admission CAS even though applied AEM). Ultimately I chose Duke.

Anyway, just apply to a ton of places, pray a rosary, and things will work out. Duke was like number 5-ish on my list when I began (behind Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Dartmouth, tied with Columbia, Brown, Penn), but it ultimately became number 1.

Point is you will get in somewhere if you are solid, might not be your favorite, but it will be somewhere, and you’ll love it and wish you applied ED and will be more then content. Just don’t worry. Things will work out and will work out for a reason. Good luck and merry Christmas.
