Just pick someone that looks like a trouble maker.

Eh, personally I would just tell the truth because I dont care enough to devise some lie that could hurt someone esle.

You still cheated, please recognize this.

You know what's even more worse? The fact that you lied to them. Now you just escalated this problem: They know you cheated, that's a fact. Now you're in a situation where they, the principal and your teacher, could find out that you actually lied. How was lying that you bought it off some kid going to soften up this situation? You still willingly cheated: this "guy" you created didn't force you to cheat. They know you cheated on your own will. I see no benefits from this lie.

End this problem, tell the truth, tell why you wanted to cheat and tell why you lied. That will at least display honesty, sense of guilt, and conscience in front of those who are involved. Probably the best result is everyone involved reassuring themselves that you are everything that they thought you were before this happened, and that can only come by displaying those qualities I mentioned.

You cannot remedy this problem as if it never happened. It's now more about damage control.

Tsk, tsk, tsk. Well, I hope you did pretty good out-of-school EC's. I would go to them for recs.

Hell, I think I've earned the right to say I don't have sympathy because I've worked my ass off to get 3rd in class without any form of cheating whatsoever. It might be a foreign concept to someone like wila, but just because you don't have integrity doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

if you just tell the truth and accept all the punishment, the teacher wont look AS bad at you. You can still getthe teacher to like you agaon as long as you remain a suck up.

Tell the whole truth to everyone involved. It's the only way you will restore your credibility with your teachers and yourself. If you don't, you risk carrying this burden with you for many years to come. Accept those teachers recommendations with the full glory you deserved before your dreadful mistake by coming clean completely. Everyone makes mistakes. You can fix this by telling the truth. Hard as it may seem now, in the end you will be glad you did. Best wishes to you.

You've confessed your deceit to countless strangers on the web, now speak the truth to the people who matter most. You can come out of this feeling one of two ways:1. wiser and proud of yourself for doing the right thing or 2. indefinately burdened by your mistake. Turn this around, make yourself proud, and move on!

I have a question that does not really have anything to do with this topic but if I found a practice test on the textbook's website for a class and the teacher is stupid and uses that exact practice test as the real test, is that cheating to looks at the practice test "real test" before I take it at school?

I have no sympathy for you either, because you were dumb enough to get caught, you deserve whatever you get, and you should of realized the consequences. Colleges don't like cheaters, you're screwed. Family problems or no family problems you shouldn't have done it. And If its such a boring class, you should do well in it without notes.

Something similar to this happened at my school. A bunch of kids from an APUSH class stole the final exam (had a substitute that day), scanned it, and gave it to other students. When they scanned it, they had to un-staple it, and then re-staple it. The teacher noticed that there was a different type of staple in it (I don't know how he found out), and the students eventually fessed up. The teacher ended up re-doing the entire exam AND decided to prohibit curves (which tickeed me off because I'm in one of his APUSH classes). But the students never got in serious trouble (straight A students too).

Most high school students cheat, whether it's stealing a test, copying homework, asking people for answers, getting help with projects (unless it's a group one), etc. I've cheated before. When you're under alot of pressure, you'll be surprised what you'll do to get an A.

You can't say you haven't cheated....

One's true character is revealed only under pressure.Stealing the test would result in expulsion from many boarding schools. Telling a lie was revealing your true character under another pressure situation. This is who you are;you must accept the consequences such as attending community college-IF they will have you.

By the way, they know you stole the tests. They are just letting you play head games with yourself over the weekend while they determine whether to suspend you or to expel you. I hope you-for your sake-are at a public school as you have more legal rights than at a private school.

My suggestion is that you write an essay to your principal, teacher, and fellow classmates explaining exactly what you did and exactly why you did it. In the essay be sure to show that you fully accept any punishment that they give to you and that you will cooperate with the punishment you receive. Apologize to them and say that you don't expect them to forgive you and that they really shouldn't. That'll at least show some personal responsibility and guilt on your part.

Or you could tell another lie and withdraw from school due to "illness" before any finding of guilt or punishment is issued. If you happen to be wealthy ,check into rehab for "exhaustion". Might as well get your plan down now because I suspect you will be using it a lot during your lifetime.

At least you can pursue a career in politics or corporate accounting.

It's clear from your second post that you are in public school, that you are very bright and that you think you are too good for this school and these boring classes. Well Genius-may I call you Genius?-you deserve what you get and I hope that you get at least half of what you deserve. This is not mean;it might help you and others in the future. Any teacher writing a recommendation for you should find another profession.

freedomfighterxy,

Anything on the internet is public domain, therefore, if your teacher pulls it straight from the web, you knowing about it and studying it is not a cheating offense.

If you think that I am being harsh, just try this in the working world-the consequences can be very severe. Get used to being treated like a low life. I know many children and young adults who suffer more than you can imagine day after day-through no fault of their own-and never sink as low as you.

so you'd sympathize more if s/he'd gotten away with it?
