you really chose brandeis over brown, with no financial reasons??? wow!! i also chose brandeis over brown, but not willingly :( stupid brown financial aid office!!! so stingy!

i'm curious... why didn't you like it?? i went to ADOCH and fell in love with brown...

i'm actually transferring to vassar! (i didn't reapply to brown to transfer, for various reasons, though i still love the school)

I'm not surprised at all that people picked Brandeis over other "more prestigious schools." I think it confirms what I've been saying all along Brandeis is a GREAT school that is on-the-rise.

on the rise my a$$, you people are so insecured about the choice of attending brandeis and thus trying to make each other feel better by saying how great it is and how many have turned down the ivies and aws. the fact is, it's a good school but not great and you all know that but don't want to admit.

I chose Brandeis over UChicago because it seemed far more laid back. Both schools had that intense academic feel, but Brandeis students just seemed so much more chill about it. Everyone was also so friendly at Brandeis. Also, the Jewish community was far superior at Brandeis than at any other school I applied to. There was some financial component...but when it came down to it, I could have gotten the money to go to Chicago. They had considered me for a scholarship (probably wasn't accepted b/c of my lack of national merit status) and clearly wanted me to go.

I am glad I chose Brandeis over some of the schools I mentioned. So far, the contact from the students and faculty has been AMAZING. I wrote a two line email on "How is the department," and I got a two page email on the major, study abroad, internship, tips....It definitely is a prestigious univ. with a small lac feel...I can't wait to start!!
