I chose GW over...

I thought it would be interesting to know what you guys chose GW over.
Mine was GW over UGA, Binghamton and Delaware.
What about you?

My D is choosing GW (Elliott) over American (SIS), Boston College, Boston University, and Univ. of Pittsburgh. At least the form is filled out and the check is written - it isn't mailed yet!

GW over Duke, Rice, Northwestern, RPI, University of Rochester, Case Western, and UF

Dickinson College and UC Davis. I made the right choice.

Tufts and NYU.

possibly choosing GW over...

U Del honors, Villanova, Binghamton, NYU and Gettysburg

American, Catholic, Auburn U., U. of Alabama!

GW totally took the cake!

Drexel, so it wasn't really a fair competition. Though, I would have picked GW over Columbia, which I probably would have gotten into, but for some odd reason they claimed that I never actually applied...

D is almost to the point of choosing GW over UW, BU & NEU.

S chose GW over Boston College, Bucknell, and BU.

So I've seen four major Universities named that were not chosen over GWU:

Boston College, Villanova, Duke, and Tufts. Why did you guys choose GWU?

Similar question, but why did you choose GW over NYU?

Those are the two I'm between at this point.

I have the same question::: Why GW over BC, tufts, duke, villanova and NYU?

Between NYU and GWU- I am from Westchester County, and am very familiar with NYC. When I revisited NYU and GW in April 07, I could picture myself living in DC, and I was right. I know people say there is no "campus feel" at GW, but I really disagree. It is a great mix of city and campus. DC is a beautiful, clean, and easy city to live in. The weather is noticeably more pleasant than NY most of the year. It's a very exciting place to be.

Between GW and Tufts: When I revisited both on April 07, I just liked GW better. I really wanted to be in a city, and Tufts just felt a little too insulated for me, even though Boston is very close. I actually tried to force myself to like Tufts more, but GW won out.

Other contributing factors: I am interested in Political Journalism, and got into SMPA and the Honors Program. I got some merit money, making GWU a ballpark choice as far as tuition.

A year later, I am sure I made the right choice.

GWU over Michigan-AnnArbor, Fordham, BU,Penn State...he knew GWU was for him!

For my son it was the energy of the city, being in the middle of where it all happens, the world class reputation, the recognition of the university, the graduate school options that he will have a better shot at down the road, the internship options (which are amazing compared to almost any other school) the networking possibilities that they are known for, the nice dorms, the incredible array of interesting people that are their professors, that about sums up what he loves about the school (as do we) this is for someone that pm'd me and wanted to know the reasons in order to help them make their own decision. Good luck to you!

I chose GW over Cornell, BU, TCNJ, Rutgers, RPI, and MSU.

I chose GWU over University of Washington, Washington State University, and Pacific Lutheran University.

I chose GW over NYU, BC, Oxford College at Emory University, UMD- College Park, American, Catholic, BU, Rutgers, Fordham, and Northeastern.

Why GW (Elliott) over American (SIS)?
