I finally made my choice reality today and sent in the deposit, after visiting all my schools...I chose Rice over Cornell, WashU, and Maryland CP gemstones (w/almost full ride). I feel great! ^^ So what about all the other Rice '10ers out there? :)

D chose Rice (Rice/Baylor) over Baylor U, SMU, UT, TAMU Honors, Macalester, Washington & Lee (full ride), Hendrix, and Trinity. She is SO excited. Rice has been her 1st choice for a long time.

choosing rice over a bunch of stuff - specifically uchicago

University of Pennsylvania

oh nice, all of those are really good schools!
I got waitlisted at Penn, which was a blow to my self-esteem haha. But it was okay, 'cause I didn't /really/ want to go there anyway. Just that it's close to home and has the Ivy League thing going on...xD

uc berkeley, tufts, bc, ucla, bu

tufts is awesome......for sailing

i chose rice over macalester, emory and a free ride to uw-mad

UCLA,UCB,UCI,UCSD,USC,Cornell,WashU,UChicago

Rice over Tufts, Miami (OHio)
If you count waitlists - CMU(pwl), JHU, UofC

whatever... im soooo happy and will see u guys there :)

i chose rice over dartmouth, stanford, southwestern, and full ride ut...and all i can say is im glad i made the choice, even though im sure i would have been just as happy at any of the other schools...i cant wait till august!

deadhead - :|
damn cool u chose Rice, but thats one hell of a choice

Rice over Caltech, Northwestern, Duke, Georgia Tech

but I talked to a guy who chose Rice over MIT, Stanford, Yale, Harvard, and others...

hey y'all
chose rice (architecture) over architecture prog's at calpoly(slo), u.miami(fl), asu honors, roger williams honors, and u.hawaii honors - which my sister is killing me for !!! haha

over cornell, UT, texas A&M

yea, apparently merit scholarships are pretty important for lots of people while choosing colleges...too bad I didn't get anything anywhere except UMCP. xD

I chose Rice over Middlebury, Claremont McKenna (w/ scholarship), Ohio Wesleyan (w/ full scholarship), GW (w/ scholarship), University of Maryland, College of William & Mary, and Tufts. Can't wait!

rice over harvard, yale, and princeton

lol jk

Rice over UT Plan II.......... (lol I'm transferring)

Well, I'm actually not joking about the kid who chose Rice over MIT, stanford, yale, harvard, etc. Without scholarship. It was hard to believe at first, but I'm pretty sure he's telling the truth.

And I'm choosing Rice over Caltech. But it boiled down to money reasons. Even though my parents are willing to pay for Caltech, I think I'd feel bad knowing that they could've saved over $50,000. And Rice's music school appeals to me, even though I can't major in it. They let me try out the organ while I was there! That was pretty awesome. Anyway... Yeah... Rice 2010!!!!
