I chose Wellesley over...

I saw this on another thread for another college and I thought it'd be an interesting thing to do. List the colleges you turned down for Wellesley. Copy and paste, keep the list going. If you'd like, share your reasons, too.

I'll start:

Lewis & Clark
Linfield
Scripps
Soka U
U of Washington
Whitman

I got $$ from L & C, Linfield, and Soka U, but I felt like Wellesley was such a good opportunity that I couldn't pass up. It really came down to deciding between Scripps, Whitman, and Wellesley, and I felt that Wellesley had more to offer. Plus, living on the East Coast versus sticking to the familiar West could be new and exciting. :]

Smith
New College of Florida
NYU
USC
Northwestern

USC was a real contender, but, in the end, I decided that Wellesley was a better fit for me.

Wheaton
Colby
Mount Holyoke
Bowdoin

... i fell in love with wellesley... it was my top choice from the beginning... and then when they gave me the best finaid of the bunch (i qualify for their new < 60,000 = loan free policy =D) it just made sense.

Updated list:

Bowdoin
Colby
Lewis & Clark
Linfield
Mount Holyoke
New College of Florida
Northwestern
NYU
Scripps
Smith
Soka U
USC
U of Washington
Wheaton
Whitman

Let's try to keep the list going! Bold the schools that you turned down so we know which is which. Awesome possum.

ooh, i like this thread. yay for rejecting colleges :)

My friend was deciding between UPenn and Wellesley up until May 1st. She finally decided on Wellesley after explaining that she can picture herself playing piano there or something along those lines. So yeah it came down to which one "fit" better and it was Wellesley.
