So someone was saying that we need this i clicker item for some of our classes. Please tell me and all the people who have to inevitably buy it, that it really is a joke.

What is it for anyway?

So someone was saying that we need this i clicker item for some of our classes. Please tell me and all the people who have to inevitably buy it, that it really is a joke.

What is it for anyway?

1)attendance
2) quizzes, (pick a,b,c,d)

What…
Are all the other UC’s using the same device or is it just UCR trying to be a standout?
I personally think it’s laziness.

sucks you cant pick the color u want. when u buy it from the campus store u get what they r selling at the moment(yellow, orange, green).
and yeah ur going to have at least one class that uses them

[Clickers: Home](http://cnc.ucr.edu/clickers/)

I hated having to buy one for community college, but the thing turned out to be really useful for taking quizzes and whatnot.

Are the quizzes actually a part of your grade or is it just a review type thing?
it looks a lot like the Wii nunchuck.

great, more money to be spent<_<

well the way it was for bio 5a
it was part of our grade
u get two points for correct answer
1 point for answering
0 points for no answer
u must have had at least 40% of the points available
40%=100%
usually clickers are from 10%-15% of ur grade and its all or nothing grade
30%=o% 90%=100%

how much r they.

around $40, but just buy one frm current students.

The clicker is more efficient especially for attendance, graded quizzes and review in large lecture classes, so you’ll probably be using it the most if you have class in any of the lecture halls on campus. Berkeley uses them too, so it’s not only UCR. If you have ANTH001 with Ness, you’ll need a clicker. If you buy one from the campus store, they’re almost $50, about $40-something. Yeah, buy one off a current student.

lol i’m borrowing from a friend. should try to share if possible… you don’t need a clicker every quarter. (:

yeah, sharing ftw. you register it every quarter for every class. long as one clicker is not registered to more than one name per quarter, ur set!

do the professors tell you on the syllabus if you’ll need one?
and are they the type of things that break easily?

its actually pretty sturdy. well the newer ones are bigger but the smaller one may break more easily. i would carry it in my backpack all the time

The professors may or may not tell you if you need one on the syllabus. My Anthro professor didn’t, but she mentioned that we needed to get one during 5th week because we’d be using it for the rest of the quarter.

As for carrying the clicker around all the time, it gets annoying when the clicker sets off the library alarms when you try to exit. No big deal otherwise; the librarians/students who ask you to come back know it’s probably due to a clicker.

so are they only needed for classes like anthro? i already took it during summer school.
do majority of the classes that require them taken during the first two years or do some of the upper-division classes require them too?

What if we need the iclicker in multiple classes such as chemistry and math for example. Would I need to buy two iclickers…? or just one?

u only need to buy one. when u buy it u register it online to ur id number and works for all classes

well the whole bio 5c series was required and so has huge chass classes.
i think its more of a lower div thing, but i havent taken any upper div so i would not know.
i think its more about class size more than anything
