Alright I would greatly appreciate some opinions about my predicament.
I have a 3.9 and a rather sad 1640 SAT score. However, i have had a steady job for over a year now(25 hours a week) and i have many extracurricular activities.
I was accepted to CSULB and have been giving it a lot of thought since I have heard it's a good school, it's cheap and it has a nursing program.
But I have been freaking out about living on campus because the dorms look tiny..any recommendations?
Also i was wait listed from SDSU [my first choice].
Accepted to UCI, UCSC, Cal Poly, UofA, NAU.
I know UC schools are supposed to be better schools to attend but they are just so dang expense..i have no clue what to do.
I live in San Diego and absolutely love it here and am also afraid of attending CSULB in smoggy LA. GAH..any advice would be nice :(

Well if nursing is the major you TRULY want to pursue, you should attend CSULB or UCI because they both have nursing programs-- the rest don’t. If you’re not absolutely sure on nursing, then maybe SDSU would be best for you. If you get enough financial aid, you shouldn’t rule out going to a UC. I know this doesn’t really help, but you need to figure out what you truly want in order narrow down your school list.

The Power of One,
I believe I read recently that CSULB now offers a doctorate in nursing. Wouldn’t that make them quite unique?

Also, I’m curious to know if the VA, which is located practically right on campus, is the location where CSULB nursing students do their clinicals. That would be unusually convenient.

otc2010, I believe the doctorate program has only been recently accepted in the most recent budget bill. It has yet to start accepting applicants.

Nursing students depending on their year in the nursing program and if they are on a semester or trimester schedule will do their clinicals in different hospitals. They have clinicals everywhere. I know they have clinicals at VA, Community Hospital of Long Beach, Long Beach Memorial, St. Joseph’s, St. Mary’s-- just to name a few hospitals.
