I could use a little assistence..

Here's the problem. I have five different ideas for majors..but unfortunately they all wouldn't be found in the liberal arts college.

I absolutely loove history, but wonder what career oppurtunities would await me after majoring in history.

I am a sports fanatic, but it seems that further oppurtunities would involve A)sports medicine(not what im looking for) or B) Sport's Business (I'm good at math but not my forte..anyway isnt it just all about the numbers?)

I am interested in being a pilot, but feel like there are too many obstacles that would prevent this dream (i.e. bad eyesight, flight training costs). Additionally, I feel like I wouldn't get an excellent general education at a place geared specifically towards 'flight' like Embry-Riddle.

I am interested in psychology, but have not even taken a high school psycholgy course.

So my question is...Is there any way that I could combine any of those interests into something?

At Indiana, they have a "Design your own major" program where you could take relavant coursesin all of your interests, and make a major of your own.

http://www.indiana.edu/~imp/

That's something you may want to look into.

You say you are a sports fanatic, they have a great program in Sport Marketing and Management (no rankings for this department), 13th in Psychology, 13th in History. Don't think they have a flight school though.

I have no bias when I say this would be a good fit for you ;)

If you are interested in becoming a pilot, you should consider Air Force or Navy ROTC. Both will allow you to go to school wherever you want and then go to flight school, and then you serve in the AF or Navy after you graduate for the same number of years you were in school (and they pay for your school...). My cousin is doing this at Virginia Tech and he's in flight school now. As for your eyesight, there's always Laser Eye surgery.

As a history major you could teach or write books...

I have a friend who is majoring in Statistics and he plans on going into sports management (MLB to be exact). You don't necessarily have to major in sports med or sports business to work in the wide world of athletics.

And you could always choose to minor in psychology or history...

Brown works for all of those except the flight program.

Look at schools that have very little required classes so that you have the opportunity to look at a lot of different classes.

Ok just to clarify for some of you, you go to flight school AFTER you finish undergrad school... and flight school is like med school. It's in a league of its own. Everyone majors in something else... usually aerospace engineering.

Not everyone majors in aero engineering. (It does help to get into ROTC though.) For the Air Force, the commitment after pilot training is 10 years, just to let you know.

You could look into one of the Service Academies, if you are interested in the military. (Sports are big there!)

look into Purdue in west lafayette IN

are you asking about future careers or how to design a major accomodating all those interests?
