Yes, along with friending as many upperclassmen as possible, you should also insult their class via a facebook or myspace group...(I guarantee you'll have a good cadence for push-ups drilled into you!)

Yeah...don't insult other class years. Unless you're really brave and not afraid of getting beat into exhaustion (aka "Smoked").

One girl in my squad was a "MySpace Basic"...she ran the A-Course about 4 times in a row, plus her element was greeted with a beat session by group staff.

What did she have on her myspace, raimius? Stupid "look at me I'm so awesome USAFA LOL" stuff, insulting upperclassmen or something else?

i saw that, maybe on webguy or somethin... or youtube?

so, iday.... personal deodorant? boxers?

bring only what you will need for the day before I-day. You'll get issued everything you need on I-day. They'll provide you with underwear too.

This information will all come in your appointee packet, maybe a little closer to inprocessing if you haven't gotten the details yet. The only thing girls are required to bring are underwear and feminine products. For guys I think it was just a razor? Not sure. Other than that, bring boots if you have them and the necessary paperwork and that's really all you need for inprocessing day. It makes things a lot simpler if you don't bring anything more than what they specifically tell you to bring.

List for males:

1) Razor
2) Boots

Everything else you could ever need will be issued to you (some of which you'll probably never use at all). The list of things to bring for females is a bit longer - talk to redhead or potterfan for the details.

That was convenient. :)

Haha, great minds think alike!

well i figured all that... i dunno. thanks :)

so no big bag of pictures? ;)

If you bring anything else, it will likely be confiscated until after Basic. Depending on the squad you go into though, it may take longer than Basic to get your stuff from your civilian bag back. We had to wait till almost September to get everything back, and we didn't get our actual bags back until Thanksgiving!

Zach, essentially the people in the MySpace group were saying it would be easy, '07 and '08 were weak because they didn't go through Recognition, etc. Chalk that one up to a BAD assumption!

Be carefull what gets placed on the web. Potter through no fault of her own has a picture taken when she got her appointment presented. Most times as long as it is positive it won't matter, but upperclassmen do have computer skills and find things. In her case an upper googled her, and stopped by to tell her what a nice picture he thought it was. It really was a good picture, and I carry a copy with me in my wallet but still be careful.

ds52262,

That picture is VERY wallet-worthy!! :)
