I Declare this Rokurota's board.

Anyone who is leet enough to find this board, congratulations. Then this can be our board. For now though, this is my board.

I found it. Where's my prize?

Btw, I came to this board because I got accepted to Rose-Hulman today, however I don't know much about it.

Do you know anything?

My son got his letter today.

hmmm...Another RH acceptee here. Hey...is anyone going to try to do the Fast Track Calculus program? I'd really like to do it, but it sounds like it's really competitive and difficult to get into.

my advice to you is to be sure to visit RH. It is a very small school, out in the middle of "nowhere". No cars allowed for freshmen. Expensive, unless you receive substantial financial aid. Academically sound.

I would like to visit sometime, since it is a very engineering oriented school ( obviously) . The male/female ratio is 80-20 (around this), so I wonder what it is like on campus. Since i would spend my next 4 years there, I must be sure that is a place that I like.

When my son visited last spring, snow was on the ground and he didn't see too many female students. He was told, if he wanted any kind of social life at RH he would have to go up the road - to Indiana State.
One thing that you need to take into account is IF you decide engineering/technology/science isn't for you, you will probably have to transfer out, since switching majors is all but impossible.

Hi, I'm Michelle.. I got my letter about 3 months ago from Rose, and I've decided to attend next September.. It's such an amazing school!!

The male/female ratio IS pretty jarring at first.. I attended Operation Catapult at Rose over the summer, and the ratio was about 4:1 as well.. but that's comparable to engineering anywhere. I think it's better to be immersed and somewhat comfortable with the environment you're in instead of getting a serious shock once you leave college and head into the real world.

And laxmom, just to let you know, cars ARE allowed for freshmen.. actually, about half the students bring their cars on campus, so it's not too difficult to get a ride from someone.

Anyway, I'm so excited for Rose! Congrats to everyone else that's been accepted!!!

I got accepted too.. Im really happy about this. I dont know whether I'll be going there because I have applied early to another college.. SO guess i have to wait!
Anyway, Im really happy that i got in because this has been my first acceptance!! CONGRATULATIONS to everyone else!

Many congratulations to you two! It's quite a thrill getting your first acceptance letter. I personally am about 80% sure that I'm going to Rose, so I'm quite excited! What is it that you guys like most about the school? I'm most fond of its excellent teaching and small class sizes...that's extraordinarily appealing.

Also, what are you guys planning on studying? I want to do Electrical Engineering, for I find that stuff fascinating. If I don't like that, I might try to get into something that'll lead me towards Aeronautical...that's a pretty cool field, as well.

Hey, are you guys going to apply for that Fast Track Calculus program that Rose offers? I'm not sure whether it's worth the price or not....I'm trying to ask around.

Sorry, guys. It turns out that I won't not be attending Rose-Hulman in Fall 2005. I was just recently admitted ED to Tufts. Have a great time at Rose-Hulman. It's a great school, just wasn't a perfect match for me.

Holy crap, you guys found my board. Jdot, you get a cookie. hands j00 cookie

Now, I shall migrate to another deserted board and claim it my own. My job here is done.
