I am currently starting my second semester of my freshman year at Texas State University. I do want to leave and transfer to UNT because of a major I want to pursue. I did apply to UNT for fall 2012 and did get accepted, but instead of withdrawing my application, I had it deferred for one year.

Does this mean I will be able to attend UNT in the fall of 2013? And if so how do I go about getting enrolled?

I would guess that your deferral was only been for a freshman admission, and you will now have to apply as a transfer student. But of course you’ll need to need to call the admissions office to find out for sure.

I don’t know anything specific about UNT or Texas State, but I expect that if you deferred your enrollment at UNT, you violated the terms of your deferment by enrolling at Texas State. (My daughter did defer her freshman year for a gap year, and the terms for deferred enrollment at every university that she considered included a stipulation that a student deferring enrollment could earn very few credits–sometimes even none at all–at another university while waiting to enroll as a freshman.)
