I did horrible on ap chem exam today, should I cancel it? Please help me!

I'm a sophomore and I just got raped by ap chem exam this morning
think I'll get 2 or 1 (possibly 3 if lucky).
My school just started ap chem class this year, and all of us were
totally unprepared.
So I am thinking about cancelling grade.
Is there any way that colleges can see my ap grade during admission process?
I heard that ap grades are not sent to college until the freshmen year of college and they don't know about ap scores when you apply, unless you put them on aplication form.
If it's true, why is "cancelling grade" option even available?
Also, would it look bad if I took ap class but not took an ap exam?

they won't see your ap unless you send it. So don't worry, its just like how the SAt used to have score choice. You could take the exam a thousand times and just send in your best one. Remeber you only need like a 62.5% to get a 5, now thats a pretty generous curve. Don't cancel it maybe you guesssed right. Everyone thinks they do badly after these things

Is it really on 62.5%? I thought it would be moe like 70-75%.

I have a similar question, if I want to report scores for some AP exams and hide others, is it possible to do this? It would be cool to show colleges my mastery of material on exams I got a 5 on but I'd prefer if they didnt see those I did poorly on (like today's chem). So for example can I submit a 5 AP BC Calculus and a 5 English Language, but not disclose a 3 AP chem?

What do you describe as "horribly"?

I got DRILLED! omg! We did bunches of practice exams. . . but the actual exam this year was much harder than the previous ones. I thought i'd get a solid 4...possibly 5 if i really concentrated. but now, after the exam...i'm sure i got a solid 3, which sucks. ihatemylifeandwanttodie

Jesus Gradeinflating Christ, get over it. Just take your 3 like a champ, and move on with your life. It's so inconsequential you can't imagine.

What are you going to do in college if you get a B+ or B, or worse ::GASP:: a C? Not disclose it?

It's an AP test, guys. Not a failed marriage. Big f'in deal.

whoa whoa relax if you have a real low score it can hurt your admissions, thats why im wondering if its like SAT's where all your scores are reported or is it different on AP if you can choose which to report and which not to, sheesh. anyone know the answer?

One slightly not stellar AP score is not going to outright bar you from admissions to the college of your dreams. TRUST ME.

uclari im not offended by your posts or anything but im just curious why youre writing on boards about high school tests

I saw someone freaking out and figured I'd calm you all down. I know it's hard to believe since I'm a dinosaur now, but I once went through what you all are experiencing.

My classmate got a 3 on his AP Chem test, and is at Harvard now. Don't fret too much.

dont cancel it, you can always withhold it if sending your scores to college

Just a word of warning: even if you don't include your AP score on your application, many schools still include it on your transcript. Check with your registrar or counselor about omitting AP scores from your transcript.
