I had to sign many of them rapidly, and I didn't double check (went straight into the envelope).

There's a chance I may have neglected to sign one and passed it to the back unsigned.
If a school receives a recommendation form unsigned, is that suggestive of absentmindedness?

Also, I definitely know on one of the forms I accidentally began to sign my name in the date! I crossed it out, put the correct date, and my initials next to the date. Do colleges care?

I'm applying to some competitive schools, and everything has to be perfect. I don't want to be rejected for something like this.

My recommender signed over the seal so I didn't open them to check.
I don't want to bother my recommender again--he has to present at a conference soon.
I mailed some and still have some others. There's a chance the form with the crossed out name or the unsigned form is in one of the remaining envelopes. Should I buy new envelopes, put the contents inside (without peeking), and ask him to sign over the seal again?
Also, is it too late to do anything about the envelopes already mailed?

I, for one, do not understand your question. You did not sign all your recommendation forms but your recommender did? If that is the case I wouldn’t worry about it.

Yes it’s possible that I didn’t sign one of my forms, but I don’t know. I think I signed all of them, but without double checking I have no way of knowing.

Why isn’t it a problem? The form itself says “Required Signature” regardless of whether I waive (I always waive). If I left it blank by accident, doesn’t that show an incapacity to follow directions and/or absentmindedness, both of which can weaken my application?

Also, because of the rapid-fire nature of my signing the forms, on one form I accidentally began signing my first name under the date. I caught it soon but I had to cross out what was already there. Does a cross-out, besides being ugly, hurt?

I think you are over thinking and worrying for nothing. I think you signed all the forms. Even if you did not sign a form, this will not get you rejected from a school.
