I’m an international and I haven’t received one yet.

some of my firends have gotten acceptances and rejections in the email from NYU. ihavent gotten anything yet. what do u think???

Anyone heard anything from Abu Dhabi? I’ve applied here and since then didn’t here a thing from them =/

okay, so i’m a CAS applicant and haveyet to recieve my decision email/letter. However, my friends that seem like they would of gotten in, have recieved acceptances, i haven’t heard of any rejections or waitlistings yet but who knows. I called the admissions office and they said they are sending out the decisions in groups or something, and they mailed the packages out yesterday. This is so nerve racking because I didn’t recieve that first email about making travel plans, but I do live quite close so maybe thats why some were excluded? At this point, I’m starting to lose interest in the school, I just want my decision :(

^ yeah i totally get what u mean, except for the fact that i dont live close by (Chicago). My hype for NYU is suddenly fading away, but oh well i mean i got into CAS at BU yesterday so that brings up my spirits

I feel your pain…
I go to an international school in Paris, France. Four people from my school applied, and only one has heard back yet. She applied for IR in the College of A&S and got into their half half program (complicated…), so she didn’t get what she wanted but she didn’t get rejected either. Another girl who applied to that same program and with better academic performance hasn’t heard anything yet. For my part, I applied to Stern and my inbox is still waiting for the sacred email.
To be honest, I’m a bit confused with NYU’s methods at the moment. I was told they send all the decisions by mail and that we would find out early April. However, I see that many people heard by email as early as ten days before the 1st. I hope that doesn’t mean the people who haven’t found out yet got rejected :S

ah yea, the first person probably got LSP-ed? [the half/half program], they usually find out early. And I also remember them saying all decisions were sent by mail to domestic applicants and email to international applicants. Moreover, why did only a select group get their decision first?? It’s completely flustering seeing that 5 others that applied from my school got their acceptance and I keep wondering why me and maybe 2 others didnt.

we live in calif. 2 of my dd’s friends have received acceptances but they are selected scholars for example her stats are: 4.8 gpa, URM, 4 yr varsity cheer-national championship team also accepted to:USC, UCLA, STANFORD

she is understandably nervous since she has heard nothing
she has been accepted at some other schools, offered scholarships…but NYU is her # 1 I am pretty sure…also Fordham is close 2nd if not 1st

My four friends who applied all got their emails (acceptances) on Thurs. But I still have not heard back. This sucks! :(

Yep, a friend of mine who also applied RD got her acceptance yesterday. She’s better than me academically on all faucets (standardized tests, GPA, rank, etc), but she doesn’t have any ECs, and I’m pretty sure she’s a Psych major, so she applied to CAS.

I, however, applied to Steinhardt and have heard nothinggg D: Expecting that rejection anytime soon :(

STILL no news. but…

“some of my firends have gotten acceptances and rejections in the email from NYU. ihavent gotten anything yet. what do u think???”

this leads me to believe that no news means no rejection [at least, for now]. i wasn’t aware that rejection emails had been going out. i’m just trying to stay hopeful.

@thisgirlisaG, this only leads me to think…waitlisted? T.T

as i read this, my nervousness turns to sadness

I’m really glad I’m not the only one freaking out about this… my best friend already got into A&S and I applied to Tisch and am anxiously waiting… but someone I know who had applied a few years ago and got in (before this dumb email thing) said DON’T write it off as a rejection until you get the letter in the mail. Think about it… they could have lost our emails, accidentally forgotten to add us to the list to send the email to, or even sent it to a similar email by mistake. Computer problems happen all the time. Plus NYU accepts somewhere around 10,000 to 12,000 kids (don’t quote me on this). It may just be taking awhile to send it out based on school you applied to or even alphabetical order or something dumb like order in which they reviewed the application… Don’t give up hope. I’m trying not to…

No, that number is wrong. The entering class is NOT 10k.

Welcome Week Leaders are told that it’s around 5k, transfers included.

Whoa…what am I missing? I thought the matriculating class was about 5000. So…the “accepted” number would be MUCH higher, right? Especially for NYU, which I’m only assuming has a pretty low yield…due to their costs/aid.

Yeah, you have it right, R12. The matriculating number is 5k, but I seriously doubt that NYU ACCEPTS 12000 students. I would think maybe 8 or 9k, but I’m just speculating. shrug

Hmm shrugs I don’t know, I found it somewhere on their site or a well known college site from a few years ago. But it probably has changed…
