so what happened to the kid? lol

seriously…not sure how a 730 Math SAT 2 app also pulls "C"s in actual classwork.

that is what sunk him, imo.

“I have 2 D’s this semester in CC”

that says it all.

UCs do not consider race.

Your stats were about average for the school and they are taking fewer freshmen this year due to the budget crisis. So in all honesty, your bad for considering it a safety and not applying to other schools, especially those where being Hispanic is a hook.

So I very much doubt an appeal to UCI will help. Your choice is to go to a CC and transfer in 2 years are a school you get into now. In most states you would not have the luxury of the choice and second chance at a top tier school, so fell lucky.

Search the forums, there are a few, but only a few who have won appeals.
You don’t have to wait 2 years to transfer, many do so in year one, just get excellent grades (which isn’t easy first term freshman).

You need 60 credits to transfer to a UC.

For those who don’t know the average stats for UCs, here they are but expect them to go up this year:

[UC Admissions Statistics](http://www.ophs.opusd.k12.ca.us/uc_admissions_statistics.htm)

lol, just get 40+ credits for advance standing with APs and dual-enrollment, etc. then loadup on 20 credits and transfer after a semester.

I would attend a community college and transfer after 2 years to a UC. The CC system in CA is great.
