"I didn't get into a sorority or fraternity but..."

Pretty sure I’m not getting a bid tomorrow. I need a good didn’t go greek but still had a great college experience story.

Less than half of girls are in sororities and 1/3 of guys are in frats.

I only got one bid back when I rushed, and decided to skip going Greek in spite of a lot of pressure from my parents. I had a lot of friends and had fun in college. I met a diverse group of people, and had time to explore some activities I might not have if Id been busy with Greek life. Remember that more than half the women and 2/3 of the students at your school aren’t in Greek life. That is a huge group of people to meet! You will be fine. In fact, you may see it as a positive thing in the long run.

There’s no one thing that will make or break your college experience. Incorporating thoughts like that can help you cope better. Is the door closed forever if you don’t get a bid now? (I don’t know anything about Greek life except that it exists). Can you try ag a in next semester? Next year?

Had no interest in fraternities, since I had no interest in alcohol, and fraternities seemed to be mostly underage drinking clubs.

I ended up getting the bid to my first choice (and my only choice, aka a suicide bid)!! I’m so happy. Thanks for the comments though; they made me feel a lot better when I was up late playing the waiting game haha.

Congratulations! You can have a great experience whether or not you go Greek, but I’m glad you’ll get the experience that you were looking for.

I had some unfortunate events out my control happened to my freshman year, my gpa was not as good as it should be so when i went through recruitment my sophmore year, the house which would have been my home. Had to drop me due to gpa. To this day, i am close with a lot of the sisters and i am an “unofficial” sister of the chapter. That is when you are a sister in all but letters.

It hurts i could not have joined that house, but they know and i know it was only because of gpa. My college is 50/ 50 and for the most part it has not really hurt me that much not being affiliated, except i do not go to formals or such.
