i didn't get into ucla...give up on berkeley?

so i didn't get into ucla...i sort of thought i would get into ucla and not berkeley since i always thought ucla was less selective and berkeley had higher standards but now im thinking im getting rejected by both. or do i still have a chance to get into berkeley...? gpa-4.1, 2090 sat 650-chem 700 math2, good 1st essay, okay-ish 2nd, some leadership positions, varsity golf 4 years (co capt. 1 yr), some clubs, im kinda poor, im filipino. lol i feel like im making this a chance thread. so should i give up on berkeley?

eh you'll find out in 2 more days.. no point in giving up hope on berkeley now.. just wait and see how things turn out.. i think you still have a chance, you have better scores than me and I got into UCLA.. but im glad the scores arent the only thing they look at. have u applied to any other UCs?

yeah i got into ucsd. i cried a bit when i got rejected from ucla because i thought i had a decent chance of getting in. lol.

Seriously are you retarded? What kind of a dumb thread is this. You find out in a few days so what is the difference? I hate "emo" spammers like this.

^Yeah, come on, you people really don't have any patience... if you really wanted to "give up" on berkeley, you should not have applied, but since you did, just wait TWO more days...

Never give up! Corny but good advice.

she's just nervous... geez
I think most of us can understand.
Best of luck to you! gahh im crossing my fingers too.

tons get rejected from ucla but get into berk and vice versa. dont worry about it. a friend of mine got rejected from ucla and ucsd but got into ucb.

Why are some ppl on CC so mean and harshly critical of others? She's just scared that she might get rejected again from one of her top choices. and to Cookie4you never lose hope even if it does seem unlikely. Who knows what might happen on Thursday! (I'm still hopeful even though I got rejected by UCLA) :)

lol im trying to stay optimistic but it's hard. and yes i am just freaking nervous right now.

Wow, you're a lot like me. 4.1, 2090, Asian/Pacific Islander, 780mathII, 750chem, varsity tennis each year, some clubs and service hours. My essays were decent, if not, very unique.

I got into UCLA, though, so I think you should keep up hope. I guess we were both borderline, though, on getting in, considering how high the numbers looked this year.

so, did you get in?

Dang this is from sooooooooooooo long ago! If you look at his post record you can tell that he did get into Cal.

haha berkeleys letter of acceptance sucked so bad. ucla’s was nice

You can do it and you can do it here.
We know you can.
Please join us at Berkeley.

I framed it. For the longest time I used to joke about hearing the sound of the world opening at my feet. :)

That’s really what it said?

I thought it said something along the lines of “Congratulations! You’ve been admitted to UC Berkeley.” Whatever it said, I stopped reading after the Congratulations.

^ haha me too. that was all i needed.

Wow, this is an old thread. So, how did things turn out for you guys? I just got rejected from UCLA but I’m hoping for Berkeley…

I don’t understand how I got into UCLA and not into UCSD (a less selective UC when compared to UCLA). Can somebody help me understand how this happened?

Why does it matter? (Unless you really wanted to go to UCSD…)
