And I submitted my Nov SAT 2 scores.... they're not very good.. Is this gonna hurt my chances at NYU now?

I'm retaking them in Jan, so I should probably send these too right?

:/ Worried...

silver, NYU doesn't require SATII's but they do strongly suggest that applicants take them. As a result, the majority of admitted students have done so. I wouldn't worry about them hurting your chances, though, as long as the rest of your app is strong. Also, the admissions office will not guarantee to look at any scores from tests later than December's when considering apps. Good luck.

Oh... so there's no point sending them my Jan scores?

Cus most of the other colleges say they accept Jan scores.........

No, I didn't say that. :) I would still send them. It's just that they won't guarantee considering them. It doesn't hurt to send them, especially if you think it might help your app.

Ok thanks always a mom... :) you're always a huge help!! cheers!

o and another question... how long should the NYU personal statements be? (i'm doing it online)

and any advice for the sunday afternoon and why NYU is a good match question?

theres only room for 5 lines.... so that long

I actually wrote 2 paragraphs for the NYU good match question. I don't know if it's a good idea to write that much.

SAT II's are needed for tisch...

SAT II's are not required, they are only recommended, for Tisch or any other NYU college.

Hmmm...I never said required, only "needed". I attended NYU this summer and we met with the admissions people several times...for tisch (especially in the film/television major) the admissions staff told us sat II's were "needed". I guess at the less competitive schools at NYU (I mean only in numbers accepted, not quality) sat II's are probably less important.

safia, my D is at Tisch. Even at Tisch, they're not needed, or required, which are synonymous. If you check out the list of accepted students, either here or in the livejournal communities, you'll see that. It's always best to have them to be a competitive applicant, and I would imagine that that's what the individuals you spoke to meant by 'needed'.

very adult...right...
