I had an interview for an american college and was simply not polite enough to send a thank you e-mail or card! My interview was months ago, and I have only just found out that we should.

Should I send a really really late thank you? Or should I just leave it?

Ahhhh… a very pure test for you. Your sending or not sending a thank you note will have no bearing on your eventual results. The question is: are you thankful that he/she took time to meet with you? If yes, then send a note. If you’re not grateful, then don’t. Why waste your time doing something you’d rather not?

If you decide the former: just say you’re happy to be finished with all your apps, give a brief update on life and say thank you. 2-3 lines – that’s all that is needed.
