So, today happened to be the day my ACT scores came back.
It was supposed to be the day I got a 31+...but I ended up getting the same score as last time, a 30.
So, now that Cornell and Tufts are totally out of my reach, what the heck should I do now?
3.7 UW
4.0 W
8 AP Classes: World (3), Bio (5), Lang (4), US (4), and then taking 4 this year as a senior (AP Calc AB, AP Psych, AP Lit and AP Gov)
VP of 3 clubs total
Secretary of 2 clubs total
Historian of 2 clubs total
Internship at a law firm in the summer of 11th grade
LIJ (Hospital) voluntary work over summer of 10th
Reading to the disabled program (summer of 9th)
30 on ACT
1820 on SAT
I've received countless awards through science fairs (Science Research), Science Olympiads, Mathletes, Spanish Club, and the Red Cross Club.
AP Scholars/National Senior Honor Society.
So, with a 30 on the ACT and those stats^^, what are my chances at:

-Cornell
-Colgate
-Tufts
-NYU (dream school, my sis goes there, this is #1 choice)
-Fordham (costs alot tho)

As a bio major, where else would I be applying to other than those^ and Bing, Stony, and BU.
I'm in New York, and I kindaa wanna stay, but anything outside is also fine :P

Thank you ;D
Much love <3

I wouldn’t say Cornell and Tufts are totally out of your reach. Try retaking the ACT and, if you think it’d help, retake the SAT. Emphasize your science research and internships and what you’ve learned from them.

Oh, and have you taken any SAT Subject Tests? I think Cornell requires them; I’m not sure, though. With your GPA and standardized test scores so far (which would be very good at 99% of the U.S.'s other colleges), SAT Subject Test scores may be very important for you.

Fordham is a great school, (I’m applying there as well.)
But as long as your essay is good I think that you should apply to Cornell anyway.
You might have a shot! :D

Thanks emberjed
I’ve taken 3 so far
Bio - 710
US - 690
Math 2 - 720

bump

I’m really starting to get depressed about this
I feel as if I’m at the border of college admission LOL
There are no fantastic colleges that are good for bio that accept under 30s
And all the good schools accept 31+

It’s like im the alienated score
This sucks so hard =/

Honestly, don’t be so down on yourself. Your act score is fine for nyu and your unweighted gap is pretty good to. Cornell is a reach and tufts is too but not as much. And you have pretty well rounded ecs. Remember that colleges look at you and want to see that you’re a well rounded person. So it’s not ALL about scores (althought it may sound hypocritical of me because I’m also on this forum). But seriously, cheerup and write amazing essays. I say you still have a pretty good chance.

Oh and bu is for sure for you
