I took the SAT practice test #4 in the College Board Official SAT Study Guide and I got a raw score in critical reading 37 (510-570), math 46 (640-700), and writing 39 with an 8 essay (610-740)... how do I calculate my score? The scaled score ranges are a bit far apart... I don't get it.

You basically assume you earned the median score in the range. For writing, the essay is 280 points I believe, and the highest score you can get is a 12. For every value lower you subtract 20 points. (eg: score 10= 240 points)

Good luck!
