I don't get it...

So, I've been really depressed since Yale EA results came out because I was rejected with a perfect SAT I score and near perfect II's. Then I recently found out that one of my cousin was accepted with a 1770 on his SAT I. How does this possibly happen? I just don't understand.

There was constructive criticism offered to you in the summer and it was really pinpointed what the problem was. You do have impressive test scores but you appear to lack ECs. Top schools are making a class, they are not interested only in high scores as the majority of their applicants are high scorers.

You’re not alone. Go to the Resources sticky thread and look at the RD Results thread from last year. The first member giving their results was deferred in the EA round.

Ana1: Yes, my EC’s weren’t broad enough and I’ve learned my lesson.

entomom, thank you for the insight. I’m going to try to move on and wait for decisions from other schools. Thanks again
