I was thinking of Geneseo as well, but I prefer Binghamton. And I'm almost certain I'll get in. NYU is....ugh I don't want to go into why I dislike it. But it is a good college, you can get a good education there...but you can also get one for 1/8 the price at Binghamton.

At the same time...I've met people at NYU who transferred here from Bing and they said classes there are crap compared to here. That makes me nervous. But I think I'll be happy at Binghamton. As for Cornell...sometimes I wonder if it's worth the money too. These private schools are all the same, so much $$$ for a brand name. But I do love Cornell.

The great thing about HumEc is that it's a lot cheaper than the 50,000 required at most other institutions.
In my personal opinion, Cornell has stronger academics than Binghamton.
And the reduced NY tuition at the contract colleges is extremely attractive: Ivy League education at a lower price? And a beautiful, amazing university to boot. You can't lose if you're a NY state resident and interested in the courses of study offered at one of the contract colleges.

To general convo: The good thing about Cornell is the financial aid is huge too...really helpps when comparing it to privates.

To star: Anyway, best of luck with Bing! I hope you get in and enjoy it immensly!

if you're looking at grad school, then your undergrad does not matter...

if you're looking at a job right after college it might matter a bit more i think...

although Suny Bing is the better of the SUNYs

I hope there isn’t a bias among transfers…I have a friend transferring there next year!
