"I don't have a solution, but I certainly admire the problem."

Hello everyone,

Before I begin this post I'd like to give credit where it is due. The title is a quote by Ashleigh Brilliant.

This is my first thread. Please excuse me if I make mistakes in this post.

I'd like to ask you College Confidential forum browsers out there to post your thoughts about how the world may be improved.

This doesn't have to be an essay, or a solution to the entire world's problems. I would just like to see other's thoughts on how to fix some well-known problems.

Some problems you may wish to consider:

Global warming (which is a highly debatable subject. Personally, I don't believe it has any true effect on us. Please do your best not to turn this into a global warming argument).

Poverty

Crime (In any given area, or the world as a whole)

Famine

Natural disasters

Before posting please remember to stay on topic. I would prefer to hear your opinions about how to FIX the problems rather than seeing a posting melee ensue about whether the problems actually exist.

To start out, I'll post my ideas on how to fix the world's problems:

We need to have a defined order to our solutions. As a species, we are not united. Therefore, we cannot specialize into units to combat different issues without seeing conflict. I am not suggesting that the world needs to be united to fix its problems, but it would certainly help.

Assuming the world is not united (as are the present conditions), the human race must conquer one goal at a time. The first step is a battle plan that allows us to focus on one issue (hopefully dealing with the more serious issues first).

If you decided not to read my ramblings, here's a summation:

How can we fix the world?

by not caring

with apathy comes bliss

I approve. Nice location, by the way.
