i dont have "connections"

i don't have "connections" in the real world. i mean, i don't have mummy n duddy or an uncle to give me a job after college.

damn you i hate you that do.

If you don’t have any then it’s your own fault. “Connections” doesn’t have to equal “family.” Get out there and meet people on your own and stop whining about people who have one advantage over you. You get nowhere in life by being bitter.

Proton, I’m pretty sure you are referring to me. Yes my dad did get me a job at the Chicago Board of Trade, but no, I’m not going to take it because I want to be a doctor. Having family to hook you up does help, but people at the work place do treat you differently. A lot of people when I worked there gave me dirty looks, but that’s because I didn’t really do anything and everyone knew it.

I agree with chuy, go out there meet new people, network.

I don’t have any connections either and so far it has not hindered my ability to find a successful job. I have a few friends that I’d consider connections that have set me up with great clients but other then that, I’m pretty much on my own to find work the hard way.

It’s not hard to find a network, even if it’s small jobs, it’s still worth it. These connections can be friends or acquaintances, they don’t have to be blood related.

If you want connections in a certain field, get involved. You’re bound to find someone that will help you!

im not talking about you preppybich. ive got nothing against you on a personal level.

Well, deal with it.

I don’t have any connections and I always seem to find a job and/or internship. Most of the people in my circle don’t have any connections either, yet they’re working at some of the best companies in the world.

Don’t try to shift the blame. Take responsibility. Maybe, it’s YOU the applicant that’s hindering your success.

Whah whah whah.

well, the only thing my parents can hook me up with is a job at the restaurant. i don’t have that big of an advantage over you.

most people’s parents don’t have connections.

Well that sucks for you now doesn’t it?

I take it by your username you’re a Physics major. Study hard and get an internship or research opportunity in a lab at your college or nearby university. Your profs can help hook you up with that. Intelligence and dedication are better than connections cause Mommy’s gonna die someday (sorry). College is a good time for networking as well - make your own connections.

haha you must really hate me then, my uncle is giving me his 4 companies and my dad is giving me his money =D.

^
fie on you moonnite300,you lucky duck :)

I do have a trust fund, but I don’t get it unless I finish University. Honestly, I would much rather work for what I have then have it given to me, it’s really boring just having everything handed to you, that’s why I quit CBOT.

Would you like some cheese with that whine?

No, I’m on a diet, cheese is really high in fat.

I’m not whining, I know that’s what you’re implying, that’s so annoying, what I can’t have problems, you try working at CBOT it’s really confusing, most of the time I had no clue what anyone was talking about because it was all in code, business jargon.

I was talking to the OP

Misunderstanding, yeah proton is whining, but I wasn’t.

Preppybich,

Why do I get the feeling you are either a ■■■■■ or just bragging on every single thread you post on???
