I'm taking the Chem SAT tomorrow, but I don't have any photo identification. I had a school-issued ID and a hospital ID (for volunteering), but I think they got stolen. I'm 16 (just too lazy to take the test for a learner's permit), so I don't think I have an excuse there. What do I do?

Edit: My school never asked me for ID for the PSAT or APs, but they aren't offering the test tomorrow so I'm taking it at another school.

otherwise, im sorry, but you may be screwed. you should have thought of this when you registered, received your admission ticket, or the several other times they reminded you to bring a photo ID

The first two times I took the SAT, when I was 11 and 13, I had no ID. All the other times I’ve taken it or the PSAT or the ACT, I’ve had photo ID (my passport) but I never bring it. Everyone always accepts my school ID. It has my photo on it, even though it’s not official. You can’t exactly get an ID now for the tests tomorrow, so just do your best to ID yourself.

I could’ve gotten the permit a few hours ago. And no one expects you to have an ID for CTY (I didn’t have one either). Does a birth certificate work?

The ACT admission ticket and website give instructions on what to do if you have no photo ID. They will actually accept a yearbook picture that still looks enough like you from a previous year with your name printed below it. You actually have to take the actual yearbook in with you. You may want to check the FAQs of the SAT website and see what it says.

^
I’m not sure permits can be used for identification. At least that’s what it said on my permit. Idk if birth certificates work because they want a photo of you to make sure someone is not taking the test for you. Where’s your passport?

I need photo ID to pick up my yearbook. I was going to do it today until I realized I didn’t have anything on me (that was when I should’ve realized it was time to get a permit).

The SAT also has specific instructions for what to do if you don’t have a photo ID - just get a picture of you and then the guidance office at your school can take care of it. That said, if you don’t have a permit yet, just get a state issued ID. They are only $12. Prety chump change considering (in MD) a permit is $50.

He could use last year’s year book or borrow a friend’s.
OP, Do you have a passport, bus id, employee id. The birth certificate without a photo will not get you in.

Not everyone is a world traveler, but everybody heading off to college should spend the $75 and get one. You now need one to go to Canada, Mexico and the Bahamas.
