I went to a private university for a year and it was too expensive so I went back home to a CC. So now I'm going on my second year at the CC. (3 years in college now) and I want to transfer to a UC. I've read up on TAGs but it says you can't have senior standing, and by the time I'm done I'll have 93 units all together. I want to go to UCSD but I don't even know how I qualify. My gpa is currently a 3.2.

Do you know someone who went to a university and downgraded and went back up!? I need some motivation!

i did it but i only have 73 units (have 3 W’s in addition, but the UC’s have verified they dont count towards the unit limit). i would check out EACH UC individually, because they all seem to have different requirements for the unit limits. some are stricter than others.

ex: UC Davis will still take you into consideration at least

“If you have completed 120 quarter (80 semester) units or more of transferable community and/or four-year college units, your admission is subject to approval by the respective dean for majors in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, College of Biological Sciences and College of Letters and Science.”

Stop at 80 units. I’m not sure if this pertains to you, but UCB is telling me that I can’t have more than 80 units done from a 4-year and CCC at the end of fall to retain my admission. I’m a spring admit. I don’t see why you would need 93.

Could you elaborate?

Oh, and plenty of people do this! You’re not alone. :). Just focus on doing the best you can at your CCC, and then transfer over to Berkeley.

Hmmm when you log onto your school website and go to unofficial transcript… What does your current standing says? Mine says sophmore and i have a lot of credit check that out first; but i am a cc student not 4-year to cc… Good luck!
