i dont know how to get the email

i am totally lost when i try to access my email account.
first it says i have to change my computer settings to some email thing where it can read .edu or something like that. i dont know how to!

and then i dont even know how im supposed to know what my email password is. and so i tried doing it where you just completely reset your password but i enter in my DOB and my id number and it keeps saying ivalid.

i dont know anything about computers and this is so frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok i figured it out up til the point where outlook express wants to know what the outgoing mail server (SMTP) is

i put the incoming mail server as sdcc21.ucsd.edu.
but everything i try entering in for outgoing keeps saying it is invaild and i cant find anything on the site

so if anyone knows what you are supposed to enter for outgoing mail server could you tell me

thanks

They want to know what your outgoing mail server is.

better to start over with the tutorial, just in case you've missed a few points along the way (which sounds very likely at this point): ACS/ResNet - Configuring Outlook 2007 (PC)

outgoing mail server is smtp.ucsd.edu ... never know what kind of useless crap you remember years afterward ;)

i put smtp.ucsd.edu
but it still wont work when i do send/receive messages

did you do the tutorial as suggested?

yeah i did the whole tutorial and followed all the steps, but it still says that there was a problem with connecting

and the last step #13 when a window is supposed to pop up to complete the installation never happened for me. so i kept installing the software again but still nothing happened.

when i go to the email there is no mail there and like every time i click on something this log on pop up appears that keeps asking me to verify my password, about once every 5 seconds.

i dont know what i did wrong

just stick with acs webmail, ACS/resnet will figure it out for you when you get here. you can set up email forwarding from webmail in the meantime. don't worry, you're not going to get loads of mail ...
