I dont know how to pay for my Education :(

I am married, unemployed, and i dont know what to do..

And its Columbia.. so its a dream and would be stupidity to let it go.

If u U>S citizen .The best would problem to look for finanacial aid on the internet. You could try signing up on FASTWEB,SCHOLARSHIP.COM or simply search for aids and grants on google.Reply if this was useful.

Thank you Alom… I will try that… do you have any links for that

Your financial aid package should say which federal loans you are eligible for. Take advantage of the federal work study program if it is offered to you.

There are scholarship books in the library too. You will want a current one, because some organizations are funding smaller scholarships or none at all this year due to the economy.

Confused Girl…have you been accepted to Columbia? Columbia guarantees to meet the full financial need for accepted students. On your financial aid applications, you would have needed to list your income and assets and the income and assets for your spouse. Does your spouse have a large income? Do you have large assets? Did you fill out the financial aid forms yet?

She has been accepted and we’re talking about this term. My guess based on her other post is that it’s Columbia GS, where need is not met, and we are talking about a non traditional student. This is a tough one. I think scholarships will be few and far between. Based on others who write here who have been in this position, I think most choose more affordable schools.

Yes it is gs… :frowning: hmom and thumper

Thanks college ruled…

Confused_girl, are you willing to consider taking out loans?

I am totally serious when I ask this question.

Do you live in NYC?

Have you or your husband considered applying for a job with Columbia University? They give full undergrad tuition remission to their employees & families at Columbia - from the lowest clerical position to top administrators.

Great idea.

choryphee, i have to take out loans, subsidized=4000 and unsubsidized=6000 and outside loan for 3000
