any thoughts?

well... you can't trust them here either.

but you're definitely in the ballpark

Thanks PhatAlbert. Anyone else?

"I'd like to have input from actual Penn people"

Send in your application and you'll get your input. We're all just guessing here, we don't know any more than you do.

I'd say the odds were great if you weren't Asian (and on top of that, Korean--the most proportionally over-represented Asian nationality)

Yay diversity initiatives! Tyrone will appreciate your spot.

Still appalled by your sense of humor JohnnyK. I think JohnnyKKK fits you a lot better. You are obviously not a Penn student with a horrible sense of humor like that. What should Dennis be worried about, apparently "Tyrone" took your spot instead?

.... apparently humor doesn't come across well, or at all, on the internet.

I thought it was funny Johnny

Humorous at who's expense though?? No, stereotyping does not come across well. To each his own.

it's not really a stereotype, in that there are probably more koreans than any other oriental nationality at penn...

incidentally i thought of tyrone during my international business ethics class today, how weird is that?

Well now, I guess the overbearing empathy reinforces things for good ol' JohnnyKKK. Don't worry guys, you don't have to stick up for him. I never expected anyone to jump on my side. Take a bow Johnny boy, you're on your way to Hollywood!

And no Dennis_89, I really don't think chance threads help at all. Particularly when you give your stats and have to read responses made by unprofessionals who don't even attend the school - and when those who do attend probably don't give two cents if you ever get in anyway.

actually, to my knowledge everyone who's posted in this thread is either a past or current student so...

So maybe they should grow up and act like it...

Yea, I think everyone here is a penn student, currently. Who's the past one tenebrous?

I actually think there are more Chinese/Taiwanese here than Koreans, but compared to representation in the population at large, i'll give it to the koreans.

still... none of this affects the OP's chances. The sports look good I guess, I don't know how they'll be received since your school is in korea. it all looks fine, really, these are the hardest chances threads to respond to. you're unhooked and your stats and ECs don't put you so amazingly over the top that you're almost guaranteed a spot, but they're high enough that you have a good chance. just apply, but don't be prank calling your safety quite yet

ooh nevermind i keep forgetting that mr. k hasn't graduated yet haha

chances threads are all lame. they're really a greater evil than the nazis, actually. and I would much rather go to school with JohnnyK than datdude (oh how I long for last year). if you can't convince yourself to apply on your own merits and the merits of the school itself, then please don't come to penn. you may get in if you apply. you won't get in if you don't apply. the opinions expressed here are meaningless.

I agree 200 percent mattwonder, your opinions are meaningless. You done peeing on Ben yet, cause the DP's got another great feature on you?

I guess it'll come down to the rec letters and essays huh?

Essays are HUGE. Regardless which great school you apply to.

no, it'll come down to everything.
