I am currently a second semester junior and I am not sure if i should apply this year. I have taken classes at my university and Community College.
My university GPA is 3.85
My CC GPA is 3.41

The main classes I have taken for the pre-req's are
English I/II-A/A
Biology I (Community college)-A
Organismal Biology- A
Microbiology-A
Gen chem I-A
Gen Chem II-B
OChem I-A
Calculus (community college)-C
Physics I (community college)-B

I really haven't volunteered anywhere but I plan on it, and I have recently started shadowing at a surgical center.

I plan on taking the MCAT in april, but with this in mind as of right now,

Do I have any chance on getting in this year or should I wait one year to build up my resume?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,
Thank you

Without a MCAT score, it’s really impossible to say.

MCAT + GPA/sGPA is the screening factor that med school use to dtermine if they will consider an individual.

You also really don’t include anough info for readers to be able to interpret your chances.

What is your cumulative GPA? (Include every college level course you’ve ever taken)

What is your sGPA? (Include every math, bio, chem and physics class you ever taken)

What kinds of activities have you particpated in? Have you shadowed doctors? Done medical volunteer work? Community service? Research? Have you held any leadership roles in any of your ECs?

Also, just to check to make sure you understand—

The medical school admissions process takes a full year to complete. You apply in the summer/fall 2012 for admission in Fall 2013.

Without a MCAT score (and no plans to take the MCAT before next spring), it’s impossible for you to apply for Fall 2013
