Next year I am going to be a freshman at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio and at the moment I am put down as being a major in Anthropology. I know that Case is a science/math oriented school, and I honestly am worried that because of my major I won't be successful or fit in there.
I am not exactly a math oriented person or chemistry oriented and I am getting straight A's in my AP Biology class, but I am much more successful at English and History type subjects.
Also, I downright refuse to be a English major or teacher of any sort.
Can someone give me some advice? I want to be successful and enjoy my life but also do well in my studies.

To be perfectly honest with you -and not to sound pretentious- I would suggest transferring to a better university first before worrying about your major. Case Western is just a travesty IMO.

Yes, you can be successful and fit in just fine at CWR as an Anthropology major. While there are a large number of premed and engineering students, you will find many fellow students in the humanities and social science fields as well. You might find some of those premed students in the Anthropology Dept., as that dept. has a subspecialty in medical anthropology and global health, areas that increasingly are popular with premeds.

Recharge, CWR is a good university overall. I’m not sure what is the basis for your opinion that it’s a travesty. I know several CWR grads who would have the opposite opinion from yours. It’s not helpful to the OP to make such broad general izations without anything to support your opinion.

CWRU is a good overall school and I think you will like it. If you don’t like your anthro classes, you can change majors.
