i dont know what to do, help me please it means a lot.

Hi i'm a junior in High School, in Southern California. The reason for making this post is because I've messed up my freshman and sophomore years and have pretty much just come to the realization that im not gonna go anywhere with what i have. let me give you some back story, school always board me i took hard classes but i hated school i was always fascinated in the things that where taught like Bio, chem but i hated English those kinds of classes, so my grades where pretty low at a 3.2 throughout freshman and sophomore year and during the beginning of my my sophomore summer i came to the realization that i had a 3.2 while all the other kids in my class where pulling 4.4's and what not i didn't know what to do i was lost, so i signed up for an SAT school and began to do vigorous work on it and began to break 2K like 2 weeks ago (i haven't taken the SAT but i plan on taking it in November). So yah that basically my story. So back to the Question, what do i do im lost im trying to bring my grades up and have taken a few APs this year to help out but what are my chances of getting into a prestigious school, (i also want to become a surgeon of some sort either trauma or cardiac or something like that haven't really made my mide up about the specifics), but yah do i go to a school for my GEs and work my ass off and transfer and what are my school options for that or any suggestions would be nice. my favorite colleges i would like to go to are: (Boston, UCLA, NYU, UC Berkeley, i know these are long shots but they are just favorites. And im not really that well educated on the college system about credit transfers and pre-med programs. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks :).

Make an appt w/your guidance counselor. Eventual medschool entrants are superior college students +3.7GPA. You need to evaluate if that’s attainable for you.

Also: please write in sentences.

Paragraphs are your friends, use them.

You don’t think about prestigious schools, transferring or medical school, you concentrate on the classes you’re taking right now and do well in them.

Better late than never: The best thing you can do for yourself right now is succeed in your classes, and focus all of your energy into doing so.

T26E4 is right, having a talk with your guidance counselor will allow you to take a realistic evaluation of where you’re headed, and what you can do if you want to be accepted into your dream school.

Good luck! And don’t give up.

 1. You may hate English, but that’s what you need to use to convey any expertise that you develop in subjects that fascinate you. You’ll also need English to communicate with any college, university, or medical school in your future. Embrace English – it’s your best friend.
 2. Focus on doing well in all your current & future courses.
 3. If your current grades/scores won’t get you admitted to university, find a community college offering biology that’s transferable to your state university system.
 4. Keep in mind that you don’t need to enter a prestigious school immediately after high school to get into medical school. However, you will need to excel in whatever school you enter.
