Ouch. You know, if you take the SAT again, you have to send in the complete register of scores from Collegeboard and adcoms will see those previous ones. I think you should take the ACT instead, though I didn't do it myself others have said it's not as chancy.

Maybe I'm jaded from other posters here, but Columbia and NYU are some big reaches there. Then again, I haven't seen all your other info. My friend's sister went to NYU without even taking the SAT because she was in the Drama department, and they take by audition. So I won't shoot you down, becuase you might be someone like that.

^no, im not going into the drama department...

i know they are reaches, but might as well try...id rather spend the $130 and try rather than wonder if i would have made it or not..

would it look bad if i took the SAT three times? 1 of the tests was the old one, and i only took that so i could take this college course, i only needed an 1100, so i didnt study much...

I used to be scared to take it more than twice, but people are telling me three times is okay. Over that, and colleges start to worry.

But I'm with you on at least trying. The worst that happens is they say no and you have to mow a few lawns to pay your parents back for the app $ :) Just have a solid base of matches beneath.

Dude, I'm in the SAME boat as you, but SAT's are exactly the same too...I want to go to BC and Emory...I was also stuck in what I was going to do too. I am going prep my ass off for the ACT, take that in Sept., Oct. take the SAT's again, and then take the ACT's again. Nov. take the SAT 1's again. It's so much to do, I hate myself...but I love BC way way too much.

All colleges care about is your top score. They dont care if you take it 50 times. However, if you are in the boat of people who take the test like 5+ times you will see no improvement because those are the people who think they got unlucky and will get lucky this time... its never the case with the SAT.

i mean i did pretty good on the NLE, i got a 37/40...but i ended up with a 590 on the SAT...

For me: i didnt have enough time to anwser the questions, i left a good 10-15 blank...

i had a real difficult time with anwsering questions from a sentece...

also, i couldn't find any books in time...i registered the last day they would let me for the june sat, so i didnt haev enough time to get a book from the internet...barnes and noble didnt carry any, so i pretty much went in there blind...the vocab wasnt all that bad, and im pretty bad at it, so im sure ull do fine...

i didnt take the ap latin, but im assuming the SAT II would be easier than that...
