I don't know what to major in.

This is my first post and I thought it made the most sense to put it here (sorry if it's in the wrong section!)

Anyways, I'm a high school junior and I know that I want to go to college to become a museum curator. I know that it's going to end up with me getting a PhD, or at least a masters. My problem is that I have clue what to major in. I know that I'd like to work in a history museum, more specifically meditteranean/near eastern. And I also know that I should take some sort of course in museum studies. But when do I major in either one? Should I major in museum studies while i'm getting my PhD, or when i'm getting my bachelors, or when I get my masters?
I also heard about a PhD degree and certificate program, where I would get a PhD in Classical Meditteranean and Near Eastern studies, and a certificate in museum studies, but I truthfully don't know what a PhD certificate program is.

I would just like some information on what courses I should take, when I should take them, and if anyone knows about the PhD certificate program, it would be a big help.
Thanks, feel free to email me.

I have no expertise in this area, but I would think you would want to major in History, and then do museum studies in grad school. I’m just guessing though. I would try googling the career you are interested in and see if you can find out how that career path works. You could also try e-mailing or calling some history museum administrative offices and ask for advice.
