I dont know where to apply

I live in ny and theres no colleges around here that im interested in. I want to go to a school where theres at least 10,000 people, a football and basketball team(division 1-A or 1-AA), and in the northeast. My GPA is only about a 3.0 and my SAT scores are; Math-500, Critical Reading(old verbal)- 510, and Writing- 460. So technically i have a 1010 SAT(old). I was thinking of applying to UConn and UMass, but im not sure if i could get in, not to mention the out-of-state costs.

It sucks living in Ny, no good schools to apply to that have a decent athletic program, arent expensive, and have low standards when it comes to GPA and SAT scores.

look at:
URI
Central Connecticut
University of Maine
University of New Haven
St Johns
University of New Hampshire
Temple
UMass

Your SATs are near the 25th percentile at SUNY Buffalo. You have a chance there. They are Div IA or IAA I think.

I seem to remember UConn would match your instate public costs... could be wrong, but check into that.

wedge said "decent athletic program" pertaining to football and basketball....who is Buffalo? never heard of them in either football or basketball.

UConn is your best bet if you want at least one (of the two you mentioned) decent athletic program.

Okay it is private, but consider Seton Hall for a school that might fit (as long as the financial aid can work.)
