so i did very well on my sat's, with a 1420 out of 1600..however i don't think the rest of my grades are up to par with the colleges that will correlate to that score.

my weighted average is a 98, and i'm in all honors classes but have only taken one ap..i've taken a few college courses and next year (senior year) i'm taking two ap's and one college course..my only real school related activities are varsity baseball and spanish national honor society..i play three instruments but have only done band once in high school..

so basically i'm wondering if i should aim high (tufts) or is that out of the question..

that’s another problem, i’m not entirely sure…i’m more of a math/science guy but i don’t know if engineering is something i wanna do…i like technology but i also am kind of interested in digital communications with the media and things like that…

basically. got any ideas of schools? i’m trying to stay on the east coast, i don’t think i wanna go anywhere midwest and california sounds nice but it just seems too far (i live in new york)

Keep in mind that if you go to one of those OOS schools you may (depending on scholarship offers) end up paying OOS rates which are steep. Add your own State flagship to the list.

How about Syracuse? It fits all of your criteria and is a good match school unless your set on Communications which makes it a reach (Newhouse is incredibly competitive).

I would recommend schools known for communications…

Syracuse, Mizzou, and OU are pretty good. I know that OU’s Gaylord School is pretty competitive and they have brand-new facilities, including their own campus TV station (which Mizzou and Syracuse also have). When many national news programs visit Central Oklahoma to cover something happening they often use the OU studio because it has more advanced technology than many NBC ABC or CBS etc studios.
