wow i just read over my post. many apologies, that came off sounding way meaner than i meant at all. sorry bad day

lol, its ok. I know how that goes sometimes too.

school that offers both food science and computer science and is >10,000= Cornell. You can apply to both the Ag School and the Engineering School and see where you get in.

^ i'm not quite cornell material.

TheSmASH, I am in a same situation as you, average student and from the midwest.

I can understand about University of Madison-my uncle went there and had a great time socially and academically.
It seems that you are really set on applying to a state school but there are a lot of great liberal arts schools in Wisconsin. They can actually be quite affordable, I even qualify for a few scholarships I bet you can too!

This week is actually Wisconsin Private College Week, even if you don't like small liberal schools it may be benefical to look at other options.

Someone mentioned other UW campuses. How about Wisconsin-Milwaukee? I believe it is as large as you want and I understand from a friend who attended Grad School there that is is a good campus environment. It looks as though your stats would get you in there.
In Michigan- Grand Valley State University. Looks like you are comfortably within the stat range, also a large school although not a large city location

Yeah I really wanna go to a state school. As for other Wisconsin schools, I already applied to marquette and I'm going to apply at msoe too.

As for uw-milwaukee :\, it's kinda of a scrummy school imo, most of the people who go there are the people with like 2.5 or lower gpas and didnt care at all in high school. I don't really like the campus at all either, my sister goes there and I wasn't a big fan of it

scum school? OK. Anyway, I missed your Food Science Requirement, which it looks like W-M and GVSU don't have per se (sorry). Central Michigan U does offer Food Science as a minor.

I don't know how selective Cornell's ag school is, though, when you're applying as a food science major. It's worth checking out, I think.

If you're considering Food Science, you'll definitely want to go to a school that at least offers a program in it.

You're willing to look outside of the Midwest, right?

You could try: ASU, Ball State, Cal Poly, CMU, Clemson, Eastern Illinois, FAU, FSU, Indiana, Iowa State, Michigan State, Purdue, Temple, Texas Tech, U Iowa, U Minnesota, Washington State...

All of the above are in your academic range and offer food science.

Ohio State is very reputable for anything related to agriculture, like food science. OSU was orginally an agricultural school. I'd have to check to see if they have a food science program.
