I don't know where to go...

I'm currently a junior and I'm looking around for colleges that are interesting to me. I live in Washington, but I am definitely looking for a school on the east coast. I plan on majoring in biology with pre-med. I'm not really concern about how much the school costs so any price range is fine. Thanks for your opinions!

Give more criteria.

Big, Medium, Small?
Urban, Suburban, Rural?
What kind of atmosphere?

Small/medium
suburban/urban
small class size
probably no public schools

Columbia comes to mind, if you have the stats for it. Or Johns Hopkins, if you're okay with an intense environment.

U Rochester would be good.

thanks! anyone else?

Haverford and Williams.

If you want to get into LACs, also look at Amherst and Mt Holyoke.

how about a safety? these schools are hard to get into....

Syracuse, maybe? It depends on your stats.

are there any schools in california that meet my criteria? because i could go to college there too.....

Plenty. Santa Clara, Occidental, the Claremont Colleges (Pitzer, Scripps, Claremont McKenna...), Loyola Marymount, University of San Diego, University of the Redlands...

wow... you know alot about colleges....

Not knowing your stats I just put these colleges into 3 categories regarding how "good" they are.

Reaches.. Swarthmore, Amherst, Middlebury, NYU, UPenn

Matches... Villanova, Haverford, Lehigh, St. Mary's College of Maryland, Rutgers

Safeties... Temple, Drexel, Gettysburg

(Can you tell I live in Pennsylvania? lol)

wow.. thanks.... i think that's about right.... my stats should be about average.... around 600 (SAT wise)

so you're about a B+ student, 1800-2000 SAT range?

If the rest of your application is excellent, consider applying to some test-optional schools like Bowdoin.

i'm probably more of a A- student.... probably upper 600's if not low 700's....

then aim high, if money's not a problem!
